The Children are placed in different schools as they live in different villages. We look for a school not too far from their house. They can then easily attend school and also after school do their homework and help the family with households chores. A school day is from 10 am till 4 pm. This time is chosen all over Nepal as some children have to walk a long distance reaching school, particularly in the mountains where there are fewer schools. Before going to school the children have a meal at home, named dal bath, which consists of rice with a lentil sauce and if they can afford vegetables and sometimes meat. The same meal they get in the evening. In Nepal people only eat twice daily. Sometimes the children get a snack during the day. When going to school they have to wear a uniform, which is usually made by a local tailor. The advantage is that now they look all the same, regardless of background. In school they are being taught the same subjects as everywhere else but as we put them in a private school instead of a governmental school they get better education and more lessons in English. Our sponsored children are listed below and when you click in the photo of a child you can read the story of that particular child.
