SCP was founded by 3 people, who all work on voluntarily base.
Bir Bahadur Tamang :-
Bir lives in Sundarijal and works in Kathmandu as the owner of an Internet shop. Since the last 10 years he is a Taichi master also. He is the project manager of Sundarijal Children Project. He encounters these poor children and talks with their families about a new future for them. Always the parents are delighted about this help and within a few months the change in attitude of the whole family in noticeable. In SCP Bir is responsible for managing the groundwork. Bir identifies the neediest cases and submits his recommendation. He also takes care of the follow-up making sure there are no problems and the children are attending school regulary. Bir's role in the project is crucial and his knowledge and experience in this field are indispensable for the success of SCP.
Ram Bahadur Tamang :-
Ram strongly values education. With a university qualification behind him, he is well aware of the positive influence education and knowledge has played in his life. He himself was sponsored in order to be able to study and knows as no one else what a gift this is towards a child. He pursued a study in Ayurvedic medicine and completed his university career in India. Now he works successfully as an Ayurvedic doctor in a clinic in California USA. Born in Kathmandu however he likes helping others from his native country to achieve more and tries to find sponsors from the US for SCP.
Willy Roelofsen :-
Willy is a retired Veterinary Surgeon from Holland and she lives also in France. She makes herself strong to find sponsors who are willing to help the project financially. Having traveled several times in Nepal, Willy realizes the need for education in this country. She realized that it is the best to start with children. When she met Ram and Bir in Sundarijal they decided to start a project together what was then named Sundarijal Children Project and which she enthusiastically supports. She has an almost daily contact with the project manager via Internet and visits the Sundarijal Project yearly.
